breaking the ice

Cooking in other people’s places is really difficult. There are differently shaped and sized pots and pans, there are edgeless knifes; there are different herbs and spices, oils and dairy products. So all very complicated, but the worst is, cooking in kitchens without dishwasher. For years I have a dishwasher now, whilst being fully aware that this is a luxury, it is a luxury I got used to. So shopping, cooking, dishwashing, doing the laundry in a different household, with a different micro-cosmos is really awkward, but in a household without dishwasher it is just – annoying!
